Mapping of Postal Points

The postal mapping project aims to centralize data on access points for postal services in Luxembourg. With this unique and innovative platform, business customers and consumers have access to all the information regarding the various postal service providers operating in Luxembourg.

The ILR (Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation) creates maps showing all postal points of postal service providers in Luxembourg.

These maps are available on myILR.lu and Geoportail.lu.

The official mapping platform Géoportail is managed by the Land Registry and Topography Administration (ACT). Every postal point is shown on this map, along with the logo of the postal service provider.

The information available for each postal point is based on data provided by the postal service providers. This data identifies the postal points of all postal service providers operating in Luxembourg. It is also possible to display information for a single provider separately.

The services are divided into three categories, namely:

  1. Staffed postal points for sending and/or receiving letters and parcels, specifying whether it is a “Post Office” or another “Staffed postal point for sending and/or receiving letters and parcels.”
  2. Parcel lockers for sending and/or receiving parcels.
  3. Letterboxes for sending correspondence. This category currently exists only for POST Luxembourg.

The pop-up windows (tooltips) that appear when you click on a specific icon provide more details for each postal point:

  • the name of the postal service provider
  • the category of the postal service
  • the exact name of the postal point
  • the exact address of the postal point
  • the opening hours and the last collection time
  • accessibility for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM)
  • annual or special closures
  • a link to the postal service provider’s website for additional information on services offered, pricing, etc.

The ILR cannot guarantee the accuracy of the data provided by the postal service providers.

The ILR notes that postal service providers are responsible for the accuracy of the data provided for publication. The ILR does, however, perform consistency checks and displays only data deemed plausible on the map.

The information included in the maps is regularly updated by the postal service providers to provide internet users with up-to-date data.
